Jay was born and raised in Moore, Oklahoma.  He and Katrina have been married since 1995.  They are the proud parents of two boys, Corey and Eli. Jay enjoys playing golf (which he plays badly) and following his favorite sports teams.

He has been in ministry since he was 20, serving in churches in Arkansas, Oklahoma, and Kansas.

He earned his Bachelor's degree from Ouachita Baptist University in Arkadelphia, Arkansas and continued his education through Mid America Baptist Theological Seminary and Midwestern Seminary.

Jeremiah 20:9 is a verse that holds deep significance in his ministry.

He believes that as a Pastor his priority centers around the preaching and teaching of God's Word and that motivates an emphasis on teaching verse by verse through books of the Bible.

Favorite Biblical characters: Jeremiah, Simon Peter

Favorite food: Anything Mexican

Weirdest thing you've ever done: "As an adult? I did a Chinese fire drill en route to a mission trip to Nebraska. That's all you'll get me to admit."

Favorite Bible verse? John 14:6. When the big stuff and the small stuff is Christ centered and consistent then it's a way of life.

Favorite Bible characters? Jeremiah preached a very unpopular message during a difficult time and stuck with it with God's direction and not his own. Paul's life embodies true repentance.

Favorite food? Pizza!

The weirdest thing I've done? Eating fire during a revival at PGBC!

My favorite quote: "Commitment means staying true to what you said you were going to do long after the mood you said it in has left you." -- Inky Johnson (Christian motivational speaker and former college football player)
